Navigating Data Privacy in Asia Pacific
Privacy and data protection issues have dominated headlines and boardroom discussions over the past two years. With the introduction of GDPR, data breaches such as Cambridge Analytica and even the recent Covid-19 situation, data privacy has been at the forefront of general consciousness.
The APAC regulatory landscape has not been immune to these developments, with many countries in the region introducing and updating their privacy laws in quick succession. Unlike the broadly consistent approach to privacy in Europe with GDPR, APAC remains a patchwork of different privacy laws that companies must learn to navigate. This session will kick off with an overview by our data protection experts of the recent developments in their region followed by an interactive panel discussion.
